Altered mole
An altered mole or dysplastic nevus is a pigmented mole that has abnormal features and can transform into a melanoma. Since the ABCDE rule for evaluating moles tends to confuse laypersons, a trained eye of the dermatologist under a reflected light microscope is necessary.
If moles are classified by us as conspicuous, we surgically remove them and send them to a histological laboratory.
